Developing PICOT Questions

When searching for the best evidence, you want to make sure that you are looking at credible websites and databases such as : PubMed, Google Scholar, institutionโ€™s library, EBSCOhost, JAMA, ScienceDirect. Best evidence is typically considered information from articles found in peer reviewed journals. These articles should always be less than 10 years old, though 5-7 years old is best. The evidence that we use in trying to provide patient-centered evidence-based care needs to be free of bias, based on clinical experience, and be researched and analyzed in a credible way.

A great way to have students practice this is through having them create research questions based on current patients and create their own research-based solutions.ย
