Providing feedback allows for increased competency and allows for students to believe that hard work equals achievement and good performance.
Feedback involves the evaluation of student performance in their interpersonal skills, evaluation skills, decision making, and each of the other aspects of being a competent and caring athletic trainer.
This starts with knowing what knowledge level the student is expected to be at once they complete their rotation. This should be the overall goal for the term. The best way to go about this is by carefully reviewing their evaluation forms and course load prior to the beginning of the clinical rotation.
