Students will never be exposed to as many “real life” scenarios in a rotation as you would like them to be. If a student has a goal to be better at holding manual c-spine stabilization and this never happens during a game or practice, how do they get better? This is where organized practice comes into play. These are preplanned situations that you put together to allow the student to get additional practice. Think of these as the practice scenarios students are put through in class, but more personalized. Preceptors should use new scenarios as well as situations a student may have already faced and need review or assistance on.
